Meet Chuck Loeher, Shiftgig’s Vice President of Sales: Part 2

Last week we welcomed Chuck Loeher as Shiftgig’s Vice President of Sales. In part one of our blog series, we learned more about how his career and how he became a part of the Shiftgig team.

This week, he’s sharing more about his role as VP of Sales, his thoughts on the gig economy and tips to leading a successful sales organization.

What is the main focus of your role at Shiftgig?

We are on the forefront of something incredible here at Shiftgig. The majority of companies in the human capital space are focused on tactical solutions to tactical problems but what Shiftgig is doing absolutely changes the way candidates are finding and working jobs, and the way employers find talent. We are transforming the industry with technology that meets the demands of today’s mobile workforce.

My main focus as VP of Sales at Shiftgig will be building the strategy behind how we expedite this opportunity so Shiftgig is the solution of choice. To do this, I’ll focus on scaling critical areas of the business, specifically in the sales organization, by creating streamlined processes and efficiencies.

What are some of the key initiatives your excited to work toward during your time at Shiftgig?

As the VP of Sales, I look forward to establishing sales targets to meet the company’s objectives as well as creating a culture of success for our sales team. I take pride in training, developing and creating a community for the talent I lead. I also look forward to creating a process to sustain sales growth and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

What drew you to work in the gig economy?

As a salesperson, I’m drawn to opportunity and as I mentioned before I see huge potential for Shiftgig and the gig economy. I don’t want to work for companies that are operating in the past, rather in the present and the future. As the gig economy continues to grow and talent becomes more competitive, it’s going to be more and more important for organizations to figure out how this workforce fits into their business and I want to be a part of that change with Shiftgig.

What makes a successful sales organization?

As a leader it’s important to lead with a commitment to learning and development in your talent. This combined with transparency, authenticity and clearly defined goals and processes will help a sales organization be successful. Also, hiring people who are accountable and have the potential to be developed will help the organization succeed. Being a successful sales organization really boils down to people, process, strategy, market and product. If you can figure out those things, you’re on a great path to success.

What is one of your passions?

I grew up in a suburb of Detroit with four sisters and my wife and I have two daughters so I’ve always had a passion for gender equality; whether it’s supporting organizations who encourage women in STEM or creating more leadership positions for women. My upbringing and family have always been the driving force behind this passion.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, sailing, golfing, water skiing, snow skiing, hiking, coaching and traveling.
