Shiftgig Announces New CTO to Oversee Its Award-Winning On-Demand Marketplace

Rick Bowman Joins Team to Help Carry Out Company Vision

Chicago, Ill., June 19, 2017 — Shiftgig, a mobile technology platform that connects businesses with vetted, hourly workers, announced today that Rick Bowman has joined the company as Chief Technology Officer.
In this role, Bowman will lead the technology strategy, operations and management for Shiftgig’s two-sided mobile marketplace. For more than a decade, Bowman has built a distinguished career, serving in senior technology leadership roles at Deloitte Consulting, HelloWallet, and Morningstar, where he most recently served as Chief Software Officer leading software engineering practices for more than 1,200 technologists across the globe.

Bowman is an active participant in technology groups across Chicago such as the GOTO Conference, ITA Student Tech Challenge, and enjoys presenting talks, most recently on inner-source software cultures and techniques at Agile Day Chicago. He got his start in software development at the age of 10 and wrote one of the first books on the programming language VB.NET at 19. He completed his undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech majoring in Computer Science with minors in both Math and Business.
