Reflections on a Transformative Year at Shiftgig

2019 was a busy year for Shiftgig. There was no shortage of change, big and small, but we are so excited about what we’ve accomplished and where we are headed in 2020.

2019: A Year of Transformation for Shiftgig

First, let’s recap the biggest change we faced this year. We started 2019 as a staffing agency, so that’s a pretty big difference from where we sit today. In April, we officially divested our staffing business to two amazing agencies: LGC Hospitality and Headway Workforce Solutions. They’ve been such great partners through this transition and their workers, clients, and recruiters have truly embraced this new, digital way of working.

This year, we also added lots of new talent to the team, moved to a new office (Hello, West Loop!), future-proofed our technology architecture, and built new features that are going to revolutionize an entirely new type of work. (More to come on that soon but trust me, you’re going to be excited!) As I sit back and reflect, I am truly amazed at what we have accomplished this year.

So, What’s Next?

As we look toward to 2020, we have a lot of exciting stuff to share with you. Most notably, a huge product announcement that you’ll see in the coming weeks.

While we have made so much progress towards our mission of Transforming the Way People Work, none of this would be possible without you! To workers on the Shiftgig app, we’re humbled that you trust us to connect you with work that fits your schedule and interests to meet your financial goals. To our staffing agency clients, we’re proud that you trust us to help you transform your staffing agency and see us as your technology partner of choice. We can’t wait to continue to support your growing businesses next year.

Happy Holidays and cheers to a very Happy New Year from all of us at Shiftgig!
