Mark your calendar: Shiftgig’s Chief Revenue Officer, Jill Erickson, will be speaking at this year’s Retail Smarter Conference in St. Petersburg, FL.
The annual, two-day conference is being held June 8-9, and is a chance for retail and industry experts to come together and learn about current trends in the retail space. Erickson, who joined Shiftgig in 2014, will be presenting on the state of the gig economy as it pertains to retailers.
“I’m looking forward to presenting at the conference and having an opportunity to network with my peers,” Erickson said. “The gig economy is a popular topic in today’s industry, and I hope to bring some new insights to the audience about how we at Shiftgig are thinking ahead when it comes to the challenge retailers are having augmenting their labor force.”
Jill will be speaking on the second day of the conference — Friday, June 9 — at 9 a.m. She will be providing one of the two morning keynote sessions.
According to Erickson, one of the great things about this particular conference is its affiliation with the University of Florida’s David F. Miller Retail Center. The connection means a handful of university students are able to participate in the conference sessions, and gain real world insight into today’s retail industry landscape.
“It’s nice to meet and hear from the future of our industry at Retail Smarter,” Erickson said. “It helps put a unique perspective on trends we’re likely to be seeing in the coming years.”
In addition to the student-led sessions, there are a number of other high profile speakers on the 2017 agenda including:
- Debbie Harvey, President and COO, Ron Jon Surf Shop
- Jennifer Hipskind, SVP – Southern Stores Division, JCPenney
- Kohl Crecelius, Co-founder and CEO, Krochet Kids International
