Meet Maurice: Aspiring DJ, Sports Fan, and Shiftgig Specialist

After earning a degree in radio and broadcasting, Maurice struggled to find work and was often searching for odd jobs to help make ends meet.

While working one of these odd jobs, he learned from a co-worker about Shiftgig. Out of curiosity, he gave it a try part-time while working his other job. Now, he picks up work with Shiftgig full time. The reason? Schedule flexibility. He gets to choose the day and time he wants to work.

A Yankees fan despite living in Tampa for almost 10 years, one of his favorite Shiftgig shifts he has ever worked was a baseball game. Not only did he enjoy the environment of working the game, he also had the chance to meet Johnny Damon and David Cone, two Yankee legends.

When Maurice is not working, he enjoys playing and listening to music to help build up his reputation as an aspiring DJ. He also enjoys exercising by playing basketball, football, and baseball.

One thing that helps Maurice succeed as a Shiftgig Specialist is his ability to be a team player, always helping others when needed. He encourages current and future Specialists to “learn everything you can.” After working with Shiftgig for about a year, he learned many new skills to be become a prep cook and server. Now, he feels ahead of the game.

Maurice leaves Specialists with one last piece of advice saying, “Don’t be afraid to try anything new because you never know without trying.”
